This delicate 2 sided icon features a polychrome painted Assumption of the Madonna on the observe holding Baby Jesus. The colours on this masterpiece are fresh and the features of the Madonna are sensitively rendered. The reverse is inscribed in black on white "Sz MARIA ISTEN ANYJA IMADKOZZ ERETTUNK". It is in Hungarian. Translation: Virgin Mary Mother of God Pray for us. The 14 ct rose gold frame is in excellent condition. On the front there are the rare delicate 7 gold stars. There is a fluted bale at the top.
